My Training – Run a Local 5K

It is Patriots day, Boston Marathon day and it still feels like winter here in Montana!

In contrast, it looked like perfect conditions over in Boston for the Marathon. Cool, clear with a strong tailwind led to World Record and American Record times. Click here to check it out.

In pursuit of a quality workout, I squeezed in a local race on Saturday the 16th. The Run for the Earth.

Racing a 5K is terrific training. The short distance forces me to run about as fast as I can – really working the cardio system. The short distance does not beat me up either. I’m rarely sore or trashed after a 5K.
